It’s that time of year again and we all enjoy the fair, the key is not enjoying it too
much, as in the food. Below are some the outrageous numbers on the foods you can find
at your local or state fair. For years this takes place about a month out of me
competing at the USA, so I have to always be careful not to go crazy. So, here are a

Tips to help take the scare out of fair foods:
- Pack a few healthy snacks (trail mix, apple, and water).
- Don't arrive hungry. Eat a high protein meal before you go, so you can limit your food to a few treats instead of grazing on high carb food all day long.
- Go early in the morning, when you may be less likely to be enticed by the aromas of food.
- Drink plenty of WATER and stay hydrated, especially when the weather is hot. Cheap and no calories.
- WALK around the whole place first, then choose a few items over the course of the day.
- Ask for an extra plate and SHARE your food choices.
